I have been meaning to get this started so that I can share memories etc. with family and friends. I am just starting with the most recent event. We went to Silver Dollar City for the first time on March 21st, 2008 and had a great time. We spent two days and still didn't see everything. It is a really nice family place to go with plenty of activities.
Emily had a great time. She especially liked Grandfather's Mansion and the kids play area. There were balls shooting everywhere. It was too cold for the water rides so we'll have to enjoy those next time. She made a wax hand and enjoyed showing it to her friends. She went on stage to help the magician and was not shy at all. We both enjoyed the pottery making area and watched for several minutes while the potter made vases, etc.
I enjoyed the county setting, wonderful food places, all the arts and crafts and, of course, watching Emily. I rode one ride that was an absolute blast. It was like a big swing and had the bungy jump feeling.
We got our pictures painted as cartoons. There was a basket shop and a log cabin that was really interesting. I am looking forward to going again this year.

Where is Silver Dollar City? I have heard of it. We need something different than Six Flags which is just rollar coasters and no atmosphere.
Silver Dollar City is in Southern Missouri/Northern Arkansas I think. It has lots of atmosphere. Here is a link:
